MIX-2015-08 - DANISH RADIO: ORCHESTRA, CHOIR, BIG BAND, JAZZ, POP, ROCK—SUPREME QUALITY

This month, MIX features DR Koncerthuset—a historic Danish radio facility housing a number of top-notch studios in a unique acoustic space. Our tour guide is Niels Erik Lund, head of Koncerhuset's facilities.

We also talk to famed guitarist Jeff "Skunk" Baxter and producer/songwriter/keyboardist CJ Vanston about working on Skunk's forthcoming and first solo record.

Guitarist/producer Richard Bennett and engineer Paul duGré discuss the recording of Iris DeMent's latest album, "The Trackless Woods". The Live section features Ingrid Michaelson on tour, as well as a picture gallery from the 2015 Bonnaroo Festival. And this month's Classic Track tells the story behind Paul McCartney and Wings' hit, "Junior's Farm."

The August issue's Regional section focuses on Canada, and features news from McGill University, Blue Light Studio, and Studios Piccolo. We also talk to studio designer Martin Pilchner, whose firm, Pilchner Schoustal International, recently completed the design for Deluxe's (audio/visual and post-production studio) brand-new space in Toronto—a 62,000-square-foot project.
